| Description: | This position has more than 1 opening for both full and part time Biologists to work in the field as biological monitors for construction projects in Southern California.

| Duties: | Performing biological construction monitoring, pre-construction surveys, report writing, construction crew environmental training and coordination, and other duties as required by the client when on site. |
| Qualifications: | Bachelor�s degree in at least one of the following: Biology, Botany, Field ecology, Wildlife, or related organism biology field is required.
2 years construction monitoring experience to include:desert tortoise monitoring, survey and handling experience.
Must have knowledge of desert special status species and ability to interact with construction crews, as well as possess federal or state permits for special status species surveys.
Previous approval for monitoring by BLM, USFWS, CDFG, or CPUC is a plus.
Must have excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Must have knowledge of GPS/GIS, federal and state Endangered Species Acts, Section 1602 of the state Fish and Game Code, Section 401 and 404 of the federal Clean Water Act, basic NEPA and CEQA knowledge.
Must be willing to live near job site, which could be anywhere in Southern California, but mostly in desert areas.
Must be able to work in extremes of desert conditions.
